The Yukon River is the fourth longest in North America. Its name means "great river" in Athapaskan.

The earliest traces of human habitation in North America are found in the Blue Fish Caves along the Bluefish River.

There are 4,735 km of highway in the Yukon. The Dempster Highway is the only public road in Canada which crosses the Arctic Circle.

In Gold Rush parlance, a Cheechako referred to a greenhorn (newcomer to the Yukon). A Sourdough was a Yukon old-timer.

With Yukon's long summer days, you can tee off for 18 holes of golf at 9:00 p.m.
