YUKON CONVENTION BUREAU ROLLING OUT
THE RED CARPET – AGAIN!

Whitehorse, Yukon.  The Yukon Convention Bureau (YCB) will be hosting their fourth annual RED CARPET TOUR for Yukon meeting & event planners on Wednesday, October 4th!

The RED CARPET TOUR will offer meeting & event planners an opportunity to see, first hand the scope of meeting product and facilities available – including transportation, hotel, catering and convention facilities as well as resources that provide planning support for meetings, conventions and leisure activities.

“The Yukon Convention Bureau hosts dozens of individual site inspections each year - over half of those, on average, are with Yukon meeting or event planners and they are always surprised with what Yukon has to offer”, says Jenn Houtby, CMP – Managing Director – Yukon Convention Bureau.

For the 2006 RED CARPET TOUR, The YCB has partnered with the Department of Tourism & Culture to highlight Yukon products and services.  This the YCB have also added a Yukon Food and Corporate Gifting Show, giving participants the opportunity to see Yukon-made products first hand, ideas they can use for their groups. 

Houtby says, “2006 has been a great year with over 35 meetings & events registered on our convention calendar!  This is an estimated economic impact of over $4 million dollars in direct spending the Territory.  The RED CARPET TOUR is one way that we
encourage Yukoner’s to think about bringing their meeting to the Yukon.”

This year there are 36 meeting & event planners registered to take part in the 2006 RED CARPET TOUR from various organizations including corporate Yukon, as well as Yukon associations and government departments.
