YUKON NABS CANADA’S TOP BUSINESS
EXECUTIVES
WHITEHORSE, YUKON – The Yukon Convention Bureau (YCB),
in partnership with the Whitehorse and Yukon Chambers of Commerce,
are pleased to announce that the Canadian Chamber of Commerce
will be hosting its summer board of directors meeting in Whitehorse!
The meetings are slated to take place June 20 – 22, 2006.
“Hosting this conference will provide a tremendous opportunity
to showcase Yukon to some of the most influential business
leaders in Canada.” - Comments Donna Mercier, Chair Whitehorse
Chamber of Commerce.
Founded in 1925, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce is the largest
influential advocate for business in Canada. The Canadian Chamber
of Commerce is a non-political association that provides a
unified voice for Canadian Business across the country.
“We are so pleased to have been able to secure Yukon
the host for this meeting. For the Yukon to be increasingly
successful as a meeting destination, YCB needs to have the
support of local groups like the Whitehorse and Yukon Chambers
of Commerce, who believe in Yukon and contributing to its economy.” said
Jenn Houtby, Managing Director, Yukon Convention Bureau.
“It is through these kinds of partnerships such as the
one between Yukon Convention Bureau, The Whitehorse Chamber
and Yukon Chamber that we can work together to bring new business
to the Territory.” Sandy Babcock, President & CEO
of the Yukon Chamber of Commerce.
YCB projects that this 50-person meeting will generate approximately
$30,000 in direct spending for the Territory. Winning this
proposal is a direct result of the marketing efforts of the
YCB. This contact was established through the Convention Bureaus
tradeshow program.
The Yukon Convention Bureau is charged with marketing the
Yukon as a favorable destination for meetings and events and
is currently selling Yukon through 2010!
