YUKON CONVENTION BUREAU HOSTS FAMILIARIZATION
TOUR
WHITEHORSE, YUKON – The Yukon Convention Bureau (YCB)
is hosting four prospective meeting & event planners on
a Familiarization (FAM) trip from February 25 – 28, 2005
in the Yukon.
Guests will experience Yukon with activities such as a flight
seeing tour and participating in Rendezvous events, providing
for the ultimate Yukon winter experience. The Planners are
from Toronto and Ottawa and one guest already books business
to Yukon on a regular basis, with smaller government meetings
through out the year.
Familiarization tours are an important tool in encouraging
planners to choose the Yukon as a location for their meeting
or event. YCB members have been extremely supportive of this
FAM and have assisted in pulling together a great cross section
of Yukon products and services. Experiencing first hand the
exceptional products and services offered North of 60, provides
planners and YCB members the opportunity to establish the critical
planner/supplier relationship which is key in the success of
future programs.
“YCB is thrilled to have the opportunity to host such
a prestigious group of meeting & event planners. For Yukon
to be increasingly successful as a meeting & event destination,
YCB needs to consistently be in the marketplace projecting
a professional image with market-ready product – our
efforts are really paying off!” said Jenn Houtby CMP,
YCB Managing Director.
Yukon Convention Bureau has 25 meetings or events currently
booked for 2005 generating an economic impact of $2.4 million
dollars. Yukon Convention Bureau is also currently booking
business beyond 2005 through to 2010.
Yukon. A natural meeting place.
