The Yukon River is the fourth longest in North America. Its name means "great river" in Athapaskan.

The earliest traces of human habitation in North America are found in the Blue Fish Caves along the Bluefish River.

Leaf Solutions is the Winner of the Golden Bravo Award for 2008!
The Golden Bravo Award is sponsored by Northwestel and was presented by Ann Kennedy to Wanda Leaf of Leaf Solutions at the TIAY Annual Conference in Dawson. The Golden Bravo Award is presented to a Yukon service provider – an organization, business or individual – who exceeds client expectations and provides outstanding service in the Meetings and Convention market. The other four nominees were: High Country Inn, Harrison Tanner (Yukon Artists @ Work), McBride Museum and Uncommon Journeys. Wanda Leaf was nominated by Paula Pasquali, the planner for the Northern Health and Learning Symposium. In her nomination the planner noted “We could not have hosted the Northern Health and Learning Symposium without Wanda Leaf’s conference organizing expertise, her solid advice and the benefit of years of experience, her attention to detail, and her ever-present optimism, good humour and ‘can do’ attitude.” Visit Leaf Solutions website.

Golden Bravo Award 2009
The Golden Bravo Award will be presented at this year’s TIA Conference in Dawson City. YCB’s Golden Bravo Award Committee has made their selection from a number of nominees – each of them very deserving of recognition for their excellent conference service. We’re keeping the name of the winner under wraps, though. The Golden Bravo Award is sponsored by Northwestel who will hand out the award on May 2nd.

Yukon Convention Bureau participates at 2009 Lions Club Trade Show
For the first year, YCB will have its own tradeshow booth at the Lions Club Trade Show. New YCB sales tool the “Add-On Catalogue” will go into production soon!
We are currently working with our members on collecting the full and half day / guide and self-guided packages of our members. This catalogue will be accessible to planners through our YCB website as well as a hard copy version available for distribution to delegates at Yukon conferences.
