Whitehorse - Kluane National Park - First Nations Camp - Dog Mushing Experience - Historic Railroad to Skagway Alaska

Day 1:
We’ll greet you at the airport and transfer you to your Hotel in downtown Whitehorse that is in walking distance of many attractions, restaurants, banks and stores. We’ll host an information meeting at your hotel followed by a city tour of Whitehorse in the afternoon. The city tour will include the historic SS Klondike Sternwheeler, Log Skyscraper, Log Church, and the Train Depot of the White Pass & Yukon Route. For those nature lovers, we’ll visit our Fish Ladder and of course, we’ll tour some residential areas and Main Street after which you will have dinner on your own.

Day 2:
After breakfast at your hotel we are off to the magnificent Kluane Park – one of the few Parks that is virtually untouched with a beauty is that is simply indescribable! In route we will stop at “Long Ago People's Place", an authentic First Nations Camp. There you will enjoy a guided tour by First Nations People. After a short drive we'll arrive at Haines Junction located in the heart of the park. At the Tourist Centre, you will view interesting exhibits and a slide show of the Kluane National Park. There is time for lunch on your own at the popular Village Bakery or other local restaurants. If you like, take in an optional sightseeing flight over the mountains and glaciers of Kluane National Park.

On our way back to Whitehorse we will stop in at Blue Kennels for a hands on dog mushing experience. Find out what the dog mushing fever is all about by harnessing and hitching dogs to sleds. Top that with some real dog mushing stories from a well known Yukon Musher during a BBQ dinner around the fire and this will be an adventure you won’t soon forget! After dinner, we will return to your hotel in Whitehorse.

Day 3:
After am early breakfast we will travel to Carcross, Yukon. We will stop at the beautiful Emerald lake and the world’s smallest Desert - Carcross Desert. In Carcross we’ll visit the old train depot, the Visitor Reception Center, the railroad bridge and the unique, old stores and shops. After which we will continue along the spectacular scenic route to the Alaskan border at Fraser. Here we'll board the train of the White Pass & Yukon Route for our trip to Skagway, Alaska. On this railroad, built more than 100 years ago you can get a taste of what the pioneers of old experienced and marvel at the incredible challenges they faced to construct the railroad.

In Skagway, Alaska, enjoy lunch on your own, visit the town with its many shops and join our hike to a small lake high above the valley floor and a great view over the town and the harbour. Around 4:00 p.m. we'll leave Skagway for our return trip to Whitehorse. The route is very different from the one the train takes, so you'll enjoy a very different view when crossing the White Pass and the high plateau with many lakes and majestic mountains. We will return to Whitehorse in time for our dinner at a local restaurant.
