The YCB Board would like to announce the promotion of Alida Munro to the position of Manager of the Yukon Convention Bureau. Alida joined YCB in September of 2008 as the Sales & Marketing Manager and has also held the position of Client Services and Membership Manager. In addition to her time with YCB, Alida brings over 10 years experience with meetings, events, sales, & hotel management in Vancouver.
The YCB board and staff is also pleased to introduce Mike Collins as our new Sales Manager as of November 14th, 2011. Mike will be responsible for YCB sales activities both locally and throughout Canada. Mike has lived in the Yukon for over 20 years and has recently worked at the Yukon Sourdough Rendezvous Society as the Event & Project Coordinator and at Board Stiff as their Buyer, Assistant Manager and Marketing Coordinator. Over the next month Alida & Mike will be visiting our Whitehorse members to touch base and introduce Mike. Alternatively, please feel free to drop in our office in the White Pass building.

YCB would like to extend our gratitude and congratulate all our partners in making our 2011 Fall Sales Missions a huge success!
This year YCB partnered together with five of our members to attend a new trade show series for the YCB sales line up. The Travel Trade Canada Silver Shows, were held in Ottawa and Vancouver and were a great success. Attendance for both shows was excellent and provided the YCB with a number of leads with independent, corporate and non for profit meeting planners and executives. The contacts made at these two trade shows have already produced formal bid requests (these sometimes can take years to generate) and a number of future business leads.

Our in market collective presence easily pronounced and distinguished Yukon from all other participants. YCB continues to attend these events and we welcome our Tourism partners to join our team in the future. When YCB members partner together, it becomes more affordable for all and we make a stronger impression on our clients as destination Yukon.
